Tapas24 is helmed by Michelin-starred chef and El Bulli alum, Carles Abellan. While billed as an underground bar, that only refers to its literal location below street. Tourists and locals lineup nightly to get into the no reservation spot and the bar serves an average of 400 guests a night. The tapas here are approachable and fun, using amazing produce and eggs from local farms, and the ambiance is bustling and convivial. Favorites on the menu include the bikini– a toasted ham and cheese sandwich with buffalo mozzarella, Ibérico ham and black truffle – and Huevos Estrellados – a just fried egg served over French fries and topped with Ibérico ham and shaved truffles.
