A Taste of Barcelona in the Vibrant Penn Quarter Neighborhood

Located in Washington D.C.’s vibrant Penn Quarter neighborhood, guests will enjoy post-work cocktails and creative bites from Chef Marc’s menu of small snacks and classic pintxos at the extensive bar, post City Center shopping lunches on the bistro-style sidewalk cafe, and leisurely brunch “Feasts” with free-flowing mimosas and sangría.

D.C.’s second Boqueria brings Penn Quarter a taste of Barcelona’s modern tapas scene with lots of swaying palms, Ibérico ham carved at the entrance, and abstract artwork. Displays of Spanish bottled vinegars and vegetables and a glossy red meat slicer welcome guests to the thick marbled 24-seat bar — the brand’s biggest yet — which will serve Shishito margaritas, exclusively Spanish wine, and lots of sherries and sangrias. Vidal tells Eater his favorite addition to the Penn Quarter lineup is the pollo rustido, which a rotisserie chicken that’s served in half or whole orders. The organic poultry is prepared Spanish style, rubbed with salt and pepper and left overnight for a 12-hour dry brine. While rotating on spits, the chicken gets basted with lard, bay leaves, rosemary, and thyme. Then it’s served with salsa verde.” ~ Tierney Plumb – Eater DC
