Spanish Tapas, Wine Bar and Restaurant

Located in the Flatiron District, NYC

Since opening in 2006, Boqueria’s flagship location – in NYC’s Flatiron District – has become a local favorite for Spanish food and a neighborhood institution. Serving Spanish tapas and classics like seafood paella, patatas bravas, rich and creamy ham croquettes, and warm and crispy churros – all within a short walk from the iconic Flatiron Building, Union Square Greenmarket, and Madison Square Park – Boqueria brings a bit of Barcelona to Manhattan. Stop by our Flatiron location at any time of day: at happy hour for a small tapa, glass of wine, and lively conversation with one of our knowledgeable bartenders; at lunch for a traditional Spanish sandwich of Iberian ham and salty Manchego cheese served on thin Stirato bread rubbed with tomato and garlic; or at dinner to connect with friends over pitchers of seasonal Sangría and tables blanketed with a variety of small plates.

Think “Barcelona in Manhattan” to get the idea behind this “irresistible” Flatiron Spaniard that lures a “young” crowd with ultra-“creative” takes on Basque and Catalonian tapas…

Boqueria sends the message that you needn’t commit to a conventional meal, that an early evening or late-night snack — which is what tapas are really about — provides ample reason to drop in…Sample some Spanish cured meats and cheeses. Have a glass of Sangria…or one of the many affordable Spanish wines. Let your appetite wander while your feet dangle. That’s the tapas spirit, and at Boqueria it’s found a Spanish home.

The room (along with the uniforms of the competent, terminally perky wait staff) is carefully coordinated in tones of toffee, beige and sandy brown, and the thing you notice, after a visit or two, is that it’s very loud, in a convivial tapas-like way, and it’s almost always packed.
