Boqueria Comes to Atlanta’s Colony Square

This January marked a new era for Boqueria. Ironically, it was on a rare snowy day in Atlanta that the first truly southern Boqueria opened its doors.

Our newest iteration of Boqueria was designed in partnership between Founder Yann de Rochefort, Architects Mancini Duffy and Alexa Nafisi-Movaghar of Adean Studios.  Alex brought a more romantic and even sensual view of Barcelona to Boqueria, more heavily inspired by the city’s Belle Epoque “Modernista” heritage, than by the European Modernist inspiration of the prior renditions.

The dining room features clean lines that are softened by subtle curves of tiled archways embracing banquettes, and lush foliage. Warm lighting emits an amber glow from custom pendants, table lamps and sconces.

On our opening night, despite the chill, the dining room took on a warm buzz as area residents and neighbors looked to escape the cold and check out the latest addition to Colony Square’s collection of restaurants.  As the snow fell outside, guests enjoyed Boqueria classics like Patatas Bravas and Gambas al Ajillo alongside new dishes only available at select locations like Za’atar Spiced Chicken Wings and Ibérico Mac & Cheese.

The brand-new kitchen and dining room teams brought their A-game, putting their weeks of training to bear, delivering the top-notch service and the taste of Barcelona Boqueria has become known for.  Throughout the night, numerous guests told us about their experiences at other Boqueria locations across the country and how happy they were to finally have a location in their own backyard. As the night grew late, and the dinner rush died down, a sense of familiarity settled into the space.  Boqueria was making itself at home in the neighborhood.
